From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Special Rotations

Community Hospital Internal Medicine Experience (CHIME)

  • The CHIME rotations are an opportunity for trainees to experience Internal Medicine in a community setting. Residents are offered a wide array of community sites (picture of CHIME map) to suit their interests.
  • Residents who are not French speaking have the opportunity to go to St. Mary’s Hospital, an English-speaking site on the island of Montreal.

 

Research/Scholarly Activity Rotation (SAR)

  • McGill’s strong research network and international reputation make it the ideal place to gain a solid foundation in research.
  • As a Royal College requirement, the Scholarly Activity Rotation at McGill is designed to allow trainees the opportunity to explore an area within a wide selection of potential interests, including (but not limited to):
    • Clinical research
    • Medical education (including simulation)
    • Quality improvement
    • Other (subject to approval by the program)
  • SAR Directors: each base hospital has a designated SAR director tasked with helping residents find a meaningful project.

Epidemiology

  • This is an optional four-week McGill course is offered as an elective for those interested in acquiring a better understanding of epidemiological and statistical methods.
