On Friday, October 20, 2023, some 60 alumni, current faculty and students gathered in Holmes Hall for the Ludmer Centre’s Masterclass on the potential of single-cell genomics. Hosted by Lesley Fellows, MDCM, DPhil, Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill, the session included talks by Patricia Pelufo Silveira, MD, PhD, Director of the Ludmer Centre’s Epigenetics and Functional Genomics research theme, and Corina Nagy, PhD, Principal Investigator at the Ludmer Centre.
Prof. Nagy's presentation provided an insight into how the single-cell genomic resolution can help guide more curated treatments to different patient populations. Dr. Silveira clarified how this technology can help physicians and pediatricians with early diagnosis, as well as the need for early intervention in infants and toddlers.
The session concluded with a riveting Q&A session. Video of the entire session is available below.
