From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Preparing a Co-op Job Offer Letter

The employer must provide an official job offer letter to the student that includes the following details:

  • The job position title
  • Address of work
  • Start and end dates of work (13-16 weeks for 4-month co-op internships, or 28-32 weeks for 8-month internships, or 41-48 weeks for 12-month internships). Internships must start either in January, May, or September to align with McGill calendar restrictions for co-op work terms.
  • Hours per week (standard is 35-40.  Minimum requirement: 35 hours per week)
  • Name of supervisor
  • Rate of pay

The student and the employer must sign and return the co-op job offer letter prior to the start of the planned co-op work term.
