Throughout the year, electives can be requested by clerks and residents. The Distributed Medical Education (DME) office coordinates the Rural electives for the McGill trainees.
For non-McGill trainees, procedures are in place for an interuniversity elective request. Please refer students interested in carrying out an elective rotation at your site to the following websites:
Clerks
- On-line application must be submitted between 4 to 7 months prior to the proposed elective start date.
- Application is done through the AFMC Student Portal of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) website.
Residents
- Request must be submitted to McGill at least 3 months before the elective date.
