McGill Summer Program for International Medical Students
Since 2021, the McGill University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is offering a summer program designed for international medical students. This immersive medical education experience, from Canada’s most prestigious university, provides a strong foundation and cutting-edge knowledge in theoretical and applied aspects of medicine.

Undergraduate Programs
MDCM Program

Elective Courses in Undergraduate Medical Education
We offer elective courses only to international students in their final year of undergraduate medical school; and who are also affiliated to an institution that has an agreement with McGill for residency training. Canadian Students studying abroad may also apply. Eligible students are invited to submit their application via the student portal of the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada. Elective Courses at the Institute of Health Sciences Education
Medical Education Electives, at the Institute of Health Sciences Education, are designed for medical students who view education as part of their career. Exposure to the broad field of medical education will include: the principles of pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, education research and development, and the role of physician-as-teacher in undergraduate, postgraduate and faculty development settings.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

As the home of Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare (SBNH), we are attuned to the healthcare needs of today while producing research and scholarship to help ensure a better tomorrow. Our Office of Social Accountability in Nursing is committed to engaging in anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and decolonizing nursing education, research, and practices. For international students at the undergraduate level, the School offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). During their first year of this four-year program (year 0), international students will take freshman science courses. Students are exposed to hands-on clinical experience starting from Year 1. A limited number of paid summer research opportunities are also available.

Graduate Studies in Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences promotes academic excellence through graduate and postgraduate programs offered in over twenty departments. Masters’ Program at the Institute of Health Sciences Education
A Master of Arts in Educational Psychology (Health Professions Stream) is offered jointly between the Institute of Health Sciences Education and the McGill Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. This master’s level degree emphasizes educational research applicable to the health professions and ways in which educational psychology and related theories can inform the design, implementation and assessment of educational programs in the health professions.
Graduate Programs at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders
The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD) provides both professional and research training in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the graduate level through its M.Sc. (Applied), M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. The School’s research programs encompass the latest paradigms to study human communication and its disorders across the lifespan, and are focused on many different languages (English, French, Arabic, Icelandic, and Chinese, just to name a few). This covers fundamental and inter-disciplinary research on speech and language production and perception, to investigations of the effectiveness of clinical intervention. SCSD researchers are involved in extensive collaborations across Canada and internationally.
