MORSL faith-based group support for Muslim students

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (MORSL) is partnering with trained wellness facilitators at McGill who come from relevant cultural and faith backgrounds to help McGill students manage the spiritual and emotional distress surrounding events in the Middle East and in the news or social media.

This group is for students who identify as Muslim across the faith and cultural spectrum, including different branches and levels of observance. Group discussion will be facilitated by McGill wellness professionals and supported by MORSL staff with special contributions from one of MORSL's volunteer Muslim faith leaders.

This group meets remotely via TEAMS. The group is grounded in the principles of confidentiality and mutual respect. Therefore, McGill credentials will be required to participate and you will not be permitted to record any part of the sessions. Once you sign up, and if you select the Remote option, you will receive a TEAMS invite to join the session you have signed up for. On the day of the session, you may log onto TEAMS using your McGill student account, and the facilitators will let you into the virtual session after confirming your identity. Please note that once you join the session, your name will be visible on the screen. However, we ask that all members of the group respect each other’s privacy and refrain from sharing names and identities outside of the session.

  • Please register for each session 24 hours in advance in order to allow us to manage logistics.
