Burnier Ocular Pathology Society Meeting

The Burnier Ocular Pathology Society has been known for its continuous growth worldwide, representing the great work and research provided by the past, present and future colleagues of the Laboratory from all around the world. In celebration of the upcoming 10th Year Anniversary of the Laboratory, we welcome you to join us in Montreal for our very first Scientific Colloquium. This Colloquium will feature the establishment of several Ophthalmology Fellowships to support the development of Future Leaders.

DATE: May 6th-8th, 2010 (This particular date was chosen as it marks the end of the ARVO Conference in Fort Lauderdale).

LOCATION: Sofitel Hotel , one of Montreal’s premiere hotels.

We encourage you to make the hotel reservations soon. There are a limited number of rooms reserved for the meeting under a special rate at the Sofitel Hotel. It is the hotel of the meeting, five star and the location is great. Lot of restaurants nearby.

The weekend long event consists of a gala banquet as well as day conferences and presentations. Here is a brief overview of the itinerary:

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

In the evening, there will be an official banquet held for participants and friends, where we hope to announce a number of Fellowship Awards for the future of the Laboratory. This event is themed to bring together the “past, present and future of the Lab” as many past graduates of the Lab, along with International Leaders, Montreal based practitioners and researchers as well as philanthropists from the community will come together to meet the fresh new faces of today’s Lab.

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Morning until afternoon, there will be presentations of scientific papers. The format of a presentation should range around a 12-minute presentation, followed by a 3-minute question and discussion period. The title of the presentation should be “My best case after leaving the Lab”.

In the evening, there will be a dinner for participants and their families (spouses, significant other etc.)

Paper presentations continue.

The banquet and conference meetings will all be held at the Sofitel Hotel at a special rate specifically for The Burnier Ocular Pathology Society event. In order to secure this rate, we need to confirm the number of participants.
