From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.


Du samedi 5 octobre au lundi 7 octobre, le campus du centre-ville et le campus Macdonald ne seront accessibles qu’aux étudiants et aux membres du personnel de l’Université McGill, ainsi qu’aux visiteurs essentiels. Diane DechiefDr. Diane Dechief (she/her)

Role: Science Communication Specialist

Biography: Diane Dechief (pronounced deCHEF) joined the Office of Science Education in the summer of 2021 after designing and teaching writing courses at the McGill Writing Centre for the past six years. Since 2017, she has focussed on teaching and research in science communication. Diane’s doctorate is in information studies from the University of Toronto and her master’s is in communication studies from Concordia University. 

As a graduate student, Diane focussed on equity and inclusion challenges faced by people who have immigrated to Canada, including name discrimination. Diane carries these concerns forward as she works to create inclusive learning environments for McGill students.
