Alex Viezel-Mathieu, MD, MSc, FRCSC

Dr. Alex Viezel-Mathieu is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Anatomy with great distinction, from McGill University and went on to complete medical school at McGill. It was there that he developed a passion for plastic surgery and was accepted into McGill's residency program. During his residency, Dr. Viezel-Mathieu completed the Surgeon Scientist Program and earned a Master’s Degree focusing on breast surgery. Following his residency, he completed an additional year of fellowship training at the University of Toronto, focusing on breast surgery.

Dr. Viezel-Mathieu is the author of over 25 peer-reviewed scientific publications and currently holds an academic appointment at McGill University, where he is actively involved in teaching surgical residents and medical students. At his hospital practice based out of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Dr. Viezel-Mathieu specializes in breast reconstruction surgery, helping those women affected by cancer to restore their sense of wholeness and self-confidence.
