The department has partnered the peer pathways myPath program, we hope that this self-directed approach will help you reach your academic, personal and professional goals by connecting with peers and creating your own Individual Development Plan. Please note that this is not MyProgress.

Here you can find the links to the registration form and promotional video.

The myPath program was developed to inspire graduate students and postdocs to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP). The purpose of an IDP is to support students as they identify, set, and plan out meaningful goals (academic, professional, and personal).

A pilot series of the Peer Pathways Program will be launched in Winter 2022 between February and May. As part of this program, GPS is launching a series of animated videos that guide students through the steps of creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP). The videos will form the backbone of a new peer program that will empower graduate students to develop their IDP during a series of 4 student-led group discussions that will promote community building within their disciplines. The program and video series will be opened to all students following the pilot.

myPath’s mission is to help students and postdocs pursue their academic, personal and professional goals using an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Think of an IDP as a tailored roadmap that guides you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Peer Pathways Program:

The Peer Pathways program uses a “flipped classroom” approach where students use the myPath tools in a self-directed way with group sessions led by a peer facilitator devoted to peer discussion and exchange. The program aims to foster social connections and build community. The program is structured around 3 main components (Observe – Enact – Share):

Observe

Watch a series of animated videos (about 15 minutes each) introducing the main information covered in myPath at your own pace.

Enact

Do the reflection exercises embedded in the videos and apply the information to your own graduate experience.

Share

Connect and share with your peers. Attend a total of 4 group sessions, offered on a bi-weekly basis.

What you will gain: the words Reflect, Envision, Plan and Enact create a loop.
