Minimum Funding

Stipends for Psychiatry students

As of January 2016, newly admitted graduate students in Psychiatry must guarantee annual stipends, from sources other than personal or family finances. These stipends are intended for student living expenses and tuitions and fees. Stipends come from the thesis supervisor, from external fellowships and from awards provided by the department.  Personal or family financing of graduate careers is NOT permitted.  However, please note this policy does NOT apply to residents who are applying to our MSc program. As of September 2022, the minimum stipend amounts will increase to the levels indicated in the table below. Furthermore, students receiving internal and external awards will receive a pro rated bonus (top-up). Eligible award and top-up amounts will be announced shortly.
