Statement from the Department Chair - June 4, 2020

The recent tragic death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of the police has triggered international protest along with raw emotions of anger, anxiety, and despondency. People are struggling individually and collectively. Our graduate student association has taken great initiative in collecting and organizing information and links to resources on the issue of systemic racism and resources on coping and engagement. We also have faculty and graduate students doing research relevant to some of the issues implicated and our social media team will continue to bring these forward as well. It can be so difficult to have hope at this time but knowing that you are not alone in your concerns, your emotions, may be a first step in finding hope.
