Sylvan Adams is an Israeli- Canadian who has dedicated his life to the advancement of science and medicine, education and nonprofit work, business, technology and culture, arts and sports. He served for 25 years as the president and CEO of Iberville Developments, a Canadian real-estate company founded by his father, Marcel Adams.
In 2009, Adams established the Margaret and Sylvan Adams Family Foundation, which supports educational and medical projects in Canada and Israel. His passion for sport and exercise spans from commuting and recreation to elite sport. He donated a sum towards the development of the Sylvan Adams Commuter Path in Tel Aviv, allowing people to cycle to and from their destinations safely. He is also the co-owner of the Israel Cycling Academy, founded in 2015. In May 2018, Adams also established the first ever velodrome in the Middle East, in Israel.
In addition to his philanthropic activities, Adams is an avid cyclist. In 2017 he was the Masters World Champion, and on several occasions has been crowned world time-trial champion.
In recent years, Adams made Aliyah from Montreal to Tel Aviv, where he currently resides. He continues his philanthropic work, and is passionate about showcasing everything Israel has to offer. He is committed to strengthening the connection between his two home countries, Israel and Canada, through partnerships and collaboration.
