At the beginning of the term
- Visit McGill's Keeping it Honest hub to learn about the meaning of integrity, how to foster it, and the consequences of breaching it.
- Ensure your students are aware of the Academic Integrity website.
- You may ask your Academic Program Coordinator (APC) or Academic Director to arrange for an instructor/student Q&A session with the SCS Disciplinary Officer (Derek Tannis, Associate Dean, SSEM).
If you notice a possible offense
Instructors do not have the authority to impose any penalties for violations of the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Measures.
If you notice a possible offense of cheating or plagiarism that calls for disciplinary action, send a report using the guide below to the Disciplinary Officer for Academic Offences at SCS (Derek Tannis, Associate Dean, SSEM) via email: disciplinaryofficer.scs [at] mcgill.ca. McGill’s Office of the Dean of Students has oversight over the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Measures.
