Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources is responsible for 1) the development and implementation of policies and procedures affecting the working conditions of non-academic staff; 2) the negotiation of collective agreements; 3) the benefits and pay and implementation of salary increases for all academic and non-academic staff at the University.

The objective of McGill's Social Equity and Diversity Education Office is to ensure a fair and inclusive environment that respects the dignity of each member of the McGill Community. The office organizes events and workshops. It also informs members of the McGill Community of available avenues and mechanisms to which they can direct their concerns.

The McGill Association of University Teachers (MAUT) is an organization of academic staff formed in 1951 to foster academic freedom, to involve the faculty in university activities and governance, and to improve the working conditions and salaries of teaching faculty and librarians. Experienced MAUT members also serve as academic advisors, as needed, when a colleague requires help in with university policies dealing with employment practices, codes of conduct, salary and benefits.
