Ada L. Sinacore, Ph.D. is an associate professor and the Graduate Program Director for the Counselling Psychology Program at McGill University. As well, she is an associate member of the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies, and the Director of the Social Justice and Diversity Research Lab. Professor Sinacore has over 25 years of experience working in the U.S., Canada, and abroad, and is internationally recognized for her expertise and extensive presentations, publications and activism addressing social justice and human rights concerns at the individual, institutional, societal and policy levels. She is actively involved in research that addresses topics related to societal inequities and disparities in education and mental health such as workplace harassment, bullying, gender based violence and sexual violence. Additionally, Professor Sinacore has chaired the CPA accreditation panel and currently sits on the boards of both the CPA and the International Council of Psychologist. She is a member of the advisory council of the Global Network of Psychologists for Human Rights. She is currently President Elect of the CPA. Professor Sinacore has received numerous honors and awards including; the Oliva Espin Award for Social Justice Concerns in Feminist Psychology: Immigration and Gender, from the Association for Women in Psychology. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association and received the Distinguished Member Award from the Section on Counselling Psychology. She was honored at McGill University where she received the Faculty of Education Award for Distinguished Teaching and has been recognized as a Distinguished Supervisor. Internationally, she was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar with the Department of International Cooperation and Science Education, in Taiwan and has been a visiting scholar in a number of university around the world. In 2019, she collaborated with the Canadian Embassy in Chile to work with university students, women leaders and NGOs to discuss ways to sexual violence in their respective institutions. She has been the keynote speaker in the XV International Week at the University of Chile.
