Katrina Bredhauer

Katrina is a PhD student on the QF2011 Flood Study, under the supervision of Vanessa Cobham, Gabrielle Simcock and Suzanne King. Katrina is a registered psychologist, and obtained her Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Queensland, graduating with a University Medal and Faculty of Science prize. She has five years’ clinical experience in health promotion and counselling (in the areas of youth suicide prevention and youth homelessness early intervention) and nine years’ research experience (in the areas of early childhood, children and young people in care, homelessness, Indigenous issues, social indicators, combat-related PTSD and military families).

Katrina has a wide-ranging and insatiable sense of curiosity, but is particularly interested in families, stress and coping, child development, resilience and trauma, and is passionate about research that makes a difference.
