Progress of the Study

The Queensland Flood Study recruited approximately 300 pregnant and postpartum women in between April 2011 and January 2012. The development of the exposed children is currently being assessed now that they are 16 month of age. The 16-month assessments began in May of 2012 and are expected to be completed by March 2013. The current assessment includes measures of children’s physical, behavioural, cognitive and social development, and salivary cortisol levels, as well as mothers’ emotional health, maternal practices, height and weight.
