Ordering Printed Official Transcripts

Currently registered McGill students request printed official transcripts in Minerva (McGill’s Student Information System). If you require your transcript urgently/immediately, you may order an electronic official transcript (eTranscript) instead, or else obtain a printed official transcript in person at Service Point.

Note 1: A $15 fee is applicable for immediate printed official transcript requests.

Note 2: Record changes made on the same day as your immediate printed official transcript request will not display on your printed official transcript.

Alumni or former students who were registered or graduated from McGill as of 1972 or later request printed official transcripts in Minerva and require login credentials. Please visit the IT Knowledgebase to view how to obtain your McGill ID & Minerva PIN. Note: A $10 fee per printed official transcript is applicable. Effective April 2014.

Alumni who were registered or graduated from McGill prior to 1972 (archived records), must submit an online Request for an Archived Official Transcript using Service Point Checkout. You will be required to upload a piece of photo ID and provide your McGill ID number. Please visit the IT Knowledgebase to view how to obtain your McGill ID number. Note: A $15 fee per archived printed official transcript is applicable.

Note: You cannot submit a transcript request if you have a hold on your record (e.g. accounting, registrar, library, etc.). Holds can be viewed on your unofficial transcript in Minerva.

Printed Official Transcript Delivery Options

Mail

Printed official transcripts are mailed via regular mail (Canada Post).

Should you wish to use a delivery service (e.g. courier such as Fed Ex, UPS etc.) to have your transcripts mailed, this can be arranged at your own cost as follows:

Currently registered McGill students, alumni or former students who were registered or graduated from McGill as of 1972 or later order the special delivery service via Minerva following the link and instructions that display upon submission of your printed official transcript request (see Confirmation Page/Payment Receipt).

Note: A $15 fee per special mail delivery request is applicable.

Immediate Transcript

If you are a currently registered student and you require your printed official transcript urgently/immediately, you may obtain it in person at Service Point. Note that record changes made on the same day as your immediate transcript request will not display on your printed official transcript.

For alumni or former students, your transcript cannot be printed on-the-spot; it will be mailed to you AFTER it was ordered in Minerva, per the instructions above.

Note: A $15 fee is applicable and payable by debit.

Third Party Printed Official Transcript Requests

Members of academic institutions or consular offices may, with written authorization from the McGill student or alumni, request official transcripts on behalf of the student. Third Party requests must be submitted using the Request for an Official Transcript (Third Party) form via Service Point Checkout, and will only be accepted when written authorization from the McGill alumni or student is provided.
