SP0087: Sustainable Education@McGill

Status: COMPLETED November 2012 - December 2013

Sus-Ed@Mcgill is creating sustainable science education training for and with the students in McGill’s Faculty of Education teacher-training program. Many of these students will become teachers in elementary or high schools, where they will provide students with an appreciation of the nature and method of science inquiry, and integrate sustainability concepts into their classes. Resources from the SPF will be used to develop 4-6 class modules and two field trips for pre-service teachers to promote and create awareness about local sustainability issues and the global value of forging better relationships between humans and the environment; in addition to creating lesson plans and toolkits for teachers to access online.
