Classes and/or University Closure

Cancellation of Classes and/or University Closure Due to Adverse Weather

In the event of extreme weather, the University may determine that the safety of students and staff would be put at risk through the continued operation of the University. When the decision is made to close the University, all McGill students, including those in the MDCM Program, will receive an email notification from the Provost’s Office. A University closure notification from the Provost Office will be the only authorization required to confirm that all activities held on campus (i.e., in a University building) are cancelled, including exams, lectures, laboratory sessions, small groups sessions and Simulation Centre activities. The duration of the University closure will be determined by the Provost’s Office. Subsequent communication will follow from the UGME Office regarding if and when cancelled activities will be rescheduled.

Please note that class cancellation by the Provost’s Office affects academic activities on campus only.  Students in the MDCM Program  are required to attend all scheduled activities (e.g., LFME, TCP and Clerkship activities) in the clinical setting, unless otherwise informed by the UGME Office or the Course or Site Director or Administrator.
