Note that you may need administrative rights to install the fonts on your computer. If so, please contact your local IT Administrator.
Here are the steps based on your computer’s operating system.
- Go to Download and install custom fonts to use with Office on Microsoft's website.
- Scroll to Install a custom font you have downloaded section.
- Select your operating system from the dropdown list and follow the onscreen instructions:

How to download the McGill fonts:- Go to Download McGill fonts.
- Download and unzip McGill-V1_0 file
- Select the folder based on your computer operating system:
- Mac: select _MACOSX > McGill-v1_0 folder
- Windows: select McGill-V1-O > desktop folder

Once you have installed the fonts, open any MS Office Suite tool (e.g., Word), then click the Font dropdown list and search for the McGill fonts.
You are now ready to use the added fonts.
We recommend that you use the McGill fonts in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook) because we do not support the use of the new fonts in Office 365 online application.
