The IMSF receives international recognition for responsible management education

The Integrated Student Management Fellowship (IMSF) is a runner-up for the PRME Education Award, in the category of “Curriculum: Designing Strong Programmes and Pathways for Responsible Management Education." 

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in business education. As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME is the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions. 

This award recognizes faculty around the world for their excellence in embedding sustainability and responsible management practices into business education. 

“We are so proud to be among them,” said Professor Sabine Dhir, academic director of the IMSF, in an open letter on LinkedIn.   

Other awardees include programs in Australia, Egypt, India, Singapore, and the United States, just to name a few.  

“The 2026 PRME Education Awards highlight the depth and diversity of efforts taking place across our global community to advance responsible management education,” said Dr. David Steingard, Head of PRME. 

The IMSF is a unique experiential leadership development opportunity for undergraduate students at McGill University. Thanks to the generous support of its donors, this signature offering of the Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM) provides hands-on experience in leadership, academic research, and community-based project development.  

IMSF Fellows have worked in 61 interdisciplinary teams, tackling 16 UN Sustainable Development Goals and complex challenges in their communities. They also worked with 84 professors from across McGill University to advance over 100 unique and impactful research projects. 

“This recognition is an endorsement of the entire IMSF community,” said Professor Dhir.

Integrated Management Student Fellowship

The Integrated Management Student Fellowship (IMSF) is an experiential leadership development opportunity offered through the BCom program designed for undergraduate students seeking to create real-world impact. The IMSF allows students the unique chance to work on research with McGill professors while building their own community project related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Fellowship empowers students through mentorship, networking, funding opportunities and exposure to academic and industry professionals.
