Laidley Centre Student Fund

The Laidley Centre for Business Ethics and Equity is pleased to announce the launch of the Laidley Centre Student Fund, an exciting opportunity for students to receive funding to organize or participate in ethics-related events and experiences. This initiative aims to encourage students to apply ethical principles in real-world settings, fostering critical thinking and enriching their academic journey. The fund prioritizes student-led initiatives such as panels, workshops, pitch competitions, and networking events that promote ethical discussions within the McGill community.

The winning team(s) will receive funding of up to $700 to organize and execute their event. The grant can be used for various event expenses, including catering, venue arrangements, speaker travel / logistics, promotional efforts, and more.

Ethics Ambassadors

Desautels Strategic Initiative Research Ideation Contest

We were delighted to collaborate with The Analytics, Advanced Digital Technologies and AI Initiative (AAAI) at Desautels to sponsor the Business Ethics and Equity track of their Research Ideation Contest for the Winter 2025 semester.

The AAAI Initiative aims to inspire Desautels PhD students to develop creative new research ideas in their field, broadly linked to themes of analytics, advanced digital technologies, and artificial Intelligence. The new research ideas should explore how these disruptive technologies could change either the nature of business and management or the objectives and methods of research in their field.

Congratulations to Levi Olando, whose proposal, "Deconstructing Misconduct: How the Work Situations We Navigate Make Bad or Good Apples of Us," won the Business Ethics and Equity track and the accompanying $500 prize.
