Roham Ghavipour

January 2020 - Dezember 2023

PhD Chemical Engineering McGill University

Project: Methane as the most abundant hydrocarbon on our planet is mostly used as fuel. For methane conversion to chemicals, the only current commercialized pathway is the indirect conversion with syngas (H2+CO) as the intermediate. Here we aim to directly convert methane to value-added chemicals like olefins and aromatics through oxidative and non-oxidative reactions. I will try metal incorporated zeolites as bi-functional catalyst to overcome the stability of methane molecule.
