Mitacs

Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada since 1999. Working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, Mitacs builds partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada.

Eligible partners include for-profit organizations not-for-profit (NFP) organizations and Crown corporations, as long as there is a demonstrable economic or productivity orientation of the proposed research project, such as creating jobs, reducing costs, or increasing productivity.

Submission process: All Mitacs applications (except Globalink Research Internship) are administered as research grants, and thus subject to McGill’s internal procedures. Completed applications are forwarded by McGill’s Mitacs representative to the Office of Innovation + Partnerships for review prior to institutional signature and approval. Once the application has been approved, it is officially submitted to Mitacs.

Application instructions: All Mitacs applications should include a fully signed OSR checklist with all program-specific documents/files saved individually. When submitting your application ensure that each file is properly labelled: Last-name_First-name_MITACS-Program_Name-of-document (e.g. Doe_Jane_Accelerate_Application/ Doe_Jane_Accelerate_Budget). Each document should be its own file; if signatories sign on different pages, please merge them into one file before submitting.
