Aortic Dissection

Acute Aortic dissection

Acute aortic dissection can occur at any time, it’s a life-threatening emergency. Certain risk factor such high blood pressure, the presence of aneurysm, arteriosclerosis, genetic conditions, connective tissue disease, traumatic injury and family history of aortic dissection promote aortic dissection. When it (acute aortic dissection) occurs, the layer of the aorta is forced to tear and separate from each other. This causes bleeding into and along the aorta wall and sometime outside the aorta (rupture).
