Other facilities and services

A Local Area Network (LAN), including wireless, has been established to facilitate email and internet access. There are also a workshop, boat house and several small offices for use by long-term research visitors. Scuba equipment and two boats, with or without a boatman/diver, are available for rental.

Washers and dryers are available on site for the use of visitors.

There is a small library of text books in marine sciences, botany, zoology, climatology, tropical geography, and information on Barbados, together with a collection of published reprints and journals in the same fields. Computer access to databases within the McGill library system is possible via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service.

Other services such as rental cars, banks, telecommunications, and medical services are modern and readily available nearby. Modern supermarkets and department stores offer food and manufactured goods from around the world.
