Privacy, confidentiality, and security

McGill University is committed to protecting privacy and safeguarding personal information in accordance with Quebec privacy law. Data from the Branches Application Forms is stored on our secure servers.

All data from the Branches Application Forms is kept strictly confidential, is not used or shared outside of McGill, and is used for operational purposes only.

Responses are confidential, and access to detailed or identifying participant data is highly restricted to a small number of employees for the purposes of building aggregate reports.

Your individual responses containing any personally identifiable information will never be shared with any internal or external bodies. Responses will never be considered in the context of a future application to McGill, nor will any personal information about you ever be shared with your instructors, supervisors, or fellow students.

The first name and pronouns you use will only be shared with those who will have direct contact with you for the purposes of correctly addressing you (e.g. mentors.) 

The information you provide in Branches Application Forms will be destroyed within 18 months of the end of your registered term with the program.
