What better way to become an experienced translator than to work one’s way up from the bottom. Hélène Roulston is living proof of the adage that one becomes a good translator by producing good translations and having the knowledge base to produce quality work. That sums up Hélène Roulston’s recipe for success. She is the 2017 recipient of the McGill Associates Prize in Translation (English-French).
Dr. Liliane Asseraf Pasin was selected as one of the winners of this year's McGill Awards for Equity and Community Building, in part for her Dialogue McGill- funded project Improving Access to Practice for English-Speaking Internationally-Trained Physical Therapists. Professor Jeffrey Bergthorson in the Department of Mechanical Engineering has been named the first Panda Faculty Scholar in Sustainable Engineering and Design at the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED). Also recently appointed Associate Director of TISED, Prof Bergthorson began a 3-year term in both roles on January 1, 2015.
The Award Processing Support Service team has received many requests to send emails to service (generic) email accounts when communicating about a specific BSA award issue. As the use of generic email accounts has become a best practice across many faculties and departments, regular communications to and from these accounts has become the norm.
Student Accounts has established the procedure for dealing with unclaimed awards from Student fee accounts and uncollectable charges resulting from award cancellations. Although these cases are very rare, a procedure is necessary in order to handle these issues when they occur.
