We on the IMPACTS Project are dedicated to supporting people affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and abuse. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian government has been working to support vulnerable populations. Certain communities and individuals face additional risks and harm, particularly as services and resources are closed, and as they are forced to stay home. Today, Prime Minister Trudeau announced that the government will provide additional support to women and children at risk of violence.

The UK has fallen six places down the global rankings for gender equality. Despite successive prime ministers pledging to take decisive action to tackle the gender imbalances in politics and wider British society, the UK has dropped from the 15th most equal nation in world to 21st.
