Tuition

Tuition fees for the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (GCPA) program are charged on a per credit basis. There are 24 credits required to complete the GCPA. Non-tuition charges do apply. An additional fee will be charged for the Common Final Exam preparatory course.

Quebec Students: $93.24

Non-Quebec Canadian Students: $291.01 (the Quebec rate of $93.24plus out of province supplement of $197.77

International Students: $900.38

Additional Fees specific to the GCPA

Base Camp is a comprehensive set of activities for students entering the GCPA program to prepare them for case based learning and presentation skills. Fees for this optional activity in 2023 are $250-$300.

Fees for the Common Final Examination Preparation, equivalent to CPA Canada’s Capstone 2 are $2,000 for 2023.

PEP Registration

Once you have been admitted and registered in the Certificate, you must register in the Ordre’s (OCPAQ) Professional Education Program (PEP) as soon as your first term begins. After the fees are paid, you will have the right to access the educational material and the examination software.

IMPORTANT: If you are completing an internship, you must register as a Candidate for the practice of the profession (CPP) as soon as you begin your training period so that it can be fully recognized.

Fellowships, awards, prizes

Lionel Pelham Kent Scholarship

Established in the memory of Lionel Pelham Kent, CA. Open to students entering the final year of the GCPA program. Awarded by a jury comprised of a Desautels Faculty of Management accounting professor and external judges. The winning team will be chosen based on outstanding skills in written and oral communication combined as presented in a case competition. Estimated value of $2,500 (to be divided among the team).

Kenneth F. Byrd Prize Entrance Scholarships

Awarded to entering students in the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting in the Desautels Faculty of Management whose academic record on application is judged to be outstanding among those entering the program. Estimated value of $250.

Douglas Mellor Prize

Awarded to a student graduating from the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting in the Desautels Faculty of Management whose academic record is judged to be outstanding among those who graduate during the academic year. Estimated value of $2,300.

Arthur D. Ruby, F.C.A. Prizes in Management

Awarded to students graduating from the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting in the Desautels Faculty of Management whose academic records are judged to be outstanding among those who graduate during the academic year. Estimated value of $500.

The Fondation CPA du Québec Scholarships 

The Fondation of the l'Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés has scholarships available for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a CPA and for students already enrolled in a CPA –PEP.
