From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Radioactive shipment: How to legally receive and open a radioactive shipment - TDG Type A Package Training

(course offered by Hazardous Waste Management)

 

ONLINE SESSION ONLY: McGill students, staff and faculty who are required to open a radioactive package can view the TDG Type A Package Online Training Video on Microsoft Stream (McGill log-in required)

Cost: Free for McGill students, staff and faculty

Content: You will learn how to receive and open a radioactive type A package as well as excepted package according to Transport of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) TS-R-1 regulations.

Certification: This training is mandatory for all laboratory users that receive and open radioactive material shipments. 

*** In order to get your certificate, you need to complete an exam registration form.  A minimum of 80% in your examination is required to get your certification.

Duration: 33-minutes
