From its first lectures in Applied Sciences in 1855, the Faculty of Engineering has developed into one of the top-ranked research-intensive engineering and design schools in the world. It prides itself on the excellence of its students, professors, and staff, and its global impact through its education and research mission. The Faculty’s renowned engineering, urban planning, and architecture researchers are leading innovation in sustainability, the built environment, manufacturing, health, and information technology.

Since its inception, the Faculty has grown to include six departments, two schools, over 10 centres and institutesfaculty workshopsengineering microcomputing facilities, and an Engineering Student Centre, as well as a number of initiatives and student-led design teams and clubs, attracting over 3500 undergraduate and graduate students every year.
