Following the Government of Quebec’s decision to suspend activities at educational institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McGill University is suspending non-essential operations on campus until further notice.  Please check the coronavirus page of the McGill website for the most current information.

During this period, MESC advisors will be available to communicate with students remotely to answer your questions and help link you with the support you need. Our top priority is to make sure students are supported during this period of uncertainty. Please use the following emails to reach us:

Other resources:

Students have virtual access to doctors via the Maple app. Keep.meSAFE, a mental health counselling service offered to students in partnership with SSMU and PGSS, provides 24/7 access to licensed counsellors through telephone and mobile chat. To access this service, download the MySSP app in the Apple App Store or Google Play. For coronavirus-related questions, contact Santé Québec at 1 877 644-4545.

The McGill Engineering Student Centre (MESC) offers many services to undergraduate students, integrating the Student Affairs Office (SAO), academic advising and peer tutoringand the Engineering Career Centre (ECC). The Student Affairs Office provides engineering student support, particularly in the key areas below.  The office also administers students’ records and is an important resource for policies and procedures related to student affairs.

Student Affairs Office (SAO)

The Student Affairs Office (SAO) is an engineering student's one-stop-shop for advising, peer tutoring, scholarships and awards, exchange and study abroad programs, counselling, orientation, administrative questions, and many other student services. The office is responsible for administering policies on student records, student assessment, and implementing the accreditation process on programs. Students are encouraged to contact MESC in all matters related to their student experience, and is also a primary resource for information on other services within the Faculty and across the University.


Advising and assisting students in program planning and in the proper selection of courses, so that all students understand the education goals of the University and follow programs that coincide with their talents, interests and goals.

Peer Tutoring Services

The Peer Tutoring program has been available to engineering students for more than 40 years to ease students' transition from high school and CEGEP to university. Peer Tutors are available daily from the third week of each term. 

Engineering Career Centre (ECC)

The Engineering Career Centre provides students with opportunities to gain career-related experience through internships (Engineering Internship Program). Connect with employers, learn about various career paths, develop job search skills, and more.
