Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering Capstone Projects

Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering Projects

Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of McGill University invites industrial companies to submit a proposal of a project for an ECE Capstone Design Project team or an Honours student. Projects involve defining an engineering problem, reviewing relevant background, acquiring/analyzing data, and seeking solutions using appropriate simulation/analysis tools and/or experimental investigation, in keeping with professional engineering practices.

The ECE design capstone projects are two-semester projects spanning either a Fall and Winter semester in the same academic year (September-April) or a Winter and following Fall semesters in the same calendar year (January-December). Design projects are carried out in groups of two to four students, and honours theses are carried out individually.

For industry-sponsored design projects, an administrative fee of $3,000 per project will be assessed.

We will share the project proposals with the students and those who are interested will contact you. Note that submitting a proposal does not mean that you need to accept a given team. Projects are awarded only when both the students and the industrial sponsor agree.

If you have a project that you would like to propose to the students or have questions, please contact us at designprojects.ece [at] mcgill.ca.
