Doctoral Internship Program

The Doctoral Internship Program offers McGill’s doctoral students at the end of their degree the opportunity to learn and grow outside of academia through a remunerated internship of a period of 1 to 3 months. Students will enhance the skills they have developed as graduate students, and gain new professional expertise that will aid in their transition from university to the workplace.

Students are welcome to find their own opportunities or browse the Doctoral Internship Program database provided. Once an internship site has been identified, applications should be sent to GPS at least 2 months in advance of the proposed start date for review. Upon approval, GPS will provide monthly funding to students for up to 3 months during their internship.

This Program aims to enrich doctoral education and not detract from it, so the internship should take place in the period between submitting their initial thesis, and defending it.

Please follow the steps and criteria outlined below in order to launch your career and discover the full potential of your doctoral degree.
