Awards

The McGill International Experience Awards (MIEA) were established in 2013 through a donation by Joseph Schull and Anna Yang. The MIEA includes the Schull Yang International Experience Awards and awards supported by other donors that are matched by Joseph Schull and Anna Yang.

The McGill International Experience Awards are open to students in several faculties. Receiving a McGill International Experience Award can help you fund your participation in one of the international activities listed on this page.

Faculty of Arts

 

  • Are you interested in participating in an international internship this summer and becoming an MIEA awardee? You can apply for an international internship offered by the Arts Internship Office, successful candidates for eligible internships will be under automatic consideration for the MIEA. You can also apply to a Faculty of Arts Internship Award and be considered for an MIEA award if you have secured an unpaid international internship independently

Faculty of Law

 

  • Are you interested in participating in an international human rights internship?
    Apply for the International Human Rights Internships Program and you will be under automatic consideration for the Schull Yang International Experience Awards and other McGill International Experience Awards.
  • Are you interested in participating in an international clerkship?
    Apply for the International Clerkships Program and you will be under automatic consideration for the Schull Yang International Experience Awards.
  • Have you been accepted to do a summer internship in Hong Kong?
    Apply for the Elizabeth L. Thomson International Experience Award to offset expenses related to this international activity.
  • Have you been accepted to do an internship in West Africa this summer?
    Apply for the Katherine Petcher and Brett Carron Internship Award to offset expenses related to this international activity.
  • Are you completing the 6-credit Major Internship course abroad as part of your Law major, or have you been accepted to participate in an international exchange?
    You will be under automatic consideration for the David W. Binet Student International Fund in Law.

Faculty of Science

 

  • Have you secured a summer undergraduate research experience abroad?
    Apply for the Schull Yang International Experience Awards to offset expenses related to this international activity.
  • Are you an undergraduate student participating in the Earth and Planetary Sciences field school courses?
    You will be under automatic consideration for the Earth and Planetary Sciences International Fieldwork Support Fund.

Faculty of Medicine

 

  • Are you a student undertaking an international research project or a community service program?
    Apply for the McGill Global Health Travel Awards and be considered for the Mary A. Metcalfe International Travel Fund.

Faculty of Engineering

 

  • Will you be participating in the Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering (SURE) International?
    Apply for the SURE International Travel Stipend to offset expenses related to this international activity.

Desautels Faculty of Management

 

  • Are you interested in participating in an 8-week summer internship with Emzingo?
    Apply for the internship directly through Emzingo and you will be under automatic consideration for the Peter and Connie Todd International Internship Award and the Richard Tattersall International Internship Award.
  • Are you an international student entering the Faculty of Management at McGill?
    Apply for the Arthur Dalfen Entrance Scholarship for future undergraduates.
  • Are you an MBA student participating in an international exchange?
    You will be under automatic consideration for the Robert Dorrance and Gail Drummond International Exchange Award.

Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Science

 

  • Are you a student in Dietetics and Human Nutrition and have secured an international internship this summer?
