The goals of the McGill Internal Medicine Program are:
- To provide exposure to a wide array of inpatient Internal Medicine experiences through General Internal Medicine and other subspeciality rotations across three major academic teaching centres and a broad network of community affiliates.
- To provide outpatient clinical exposure via two 4-week long ambulatory clinic blocks that include mandatory General Internal Medicine and pre-op clinics and optional subspecialty clinics.
- To develop strong clinical skills in the critical care setting with an emphasis on rotations in the Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Intensive Care Units across all three major teaching sites.
- To develop strong research skills by encouraging and supporting scholarly projects throughout residency.
- To encourage trainees to identify and develop areas on interest in order to ensure the foundations of a fulfilling career in Medicine.
