Optical Light Microscopy

IQBI researchers image on vastly different scales: from single molecules, to cells, to organs, to whole organisms. Accordingly, our imaging capabilities span from electron to x-ray imaging to light microscopy.

The IQBI light microscopes include a STED super-resolution microscope, several TIRF and custom build spinning disc confocal microscopes and a Zeiss light sheet microscope. Except for the Lightsheet Z.1, our microscopes are only accessible through collaboration or direct request to the PI in charge.

The Lightsheet Z.1, together with the instruments of the Cell Imaging and Analysis Network (CIAN; Leica SP8, Spinning Disc Confocal SD3, OMX-Super Resolution) are managed by the Advanced BioImaging Facility (ABIF) and can be used at an hourly fee.
