Abberior STED Super-Resolution Microscope

This Abberior STED system allows researchers to implement this relatively new super resolution technique in two different colours, while also allowing for standard confocal imaging. For inquiries about access to the STED, visit our Contact Us page.

STimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscopy

This imaging technique allows researchers to achieve resolution below the diffraction limit of light (about 200nm). This works by selectively deactivating fluorophores, resulting in only a very small area of illumination at the focal point.

Features:

  • Resolution up to 50nm
  • Two STED excitation lasers, one depletion laser, and four confocal excitation lasers
  • Simultaneous 2-colour STED
  • 3 APD detectors (up to 3 simultaneously detected wavelengths)
  • RESOLFT for live-cell imaging
