Jaleh Ebrahimi, PhD (Year 3)

About

I am a Ph.D. student in Islamic Studies with a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies at McGill University. I hold a master’s degree in the History of Iran from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. My research focuses on education in the Islamicate world before modernity, and I also explore storytelling and Persian folktales through the lens of gender studies. My current research examines educational folktales in Iran during the long nineteenth century, a period characterized by significant changes in gender roles and sexual sensibilities.
