The Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University is a teaching and research community that drives policy transformation by sharing rigorous and independent analysis of society’s toughest challenges, creating dynamic learning opportunities, and convening conversations that matter.

The Max Bell School was launched in 2017 through a generous gift from the Max Bell Foundation, with the aim of developing future policy leaders and serving as a forum for mobilizing ideas around critical issues of public policy. Our flagship Master of Public Policy program was designed to balance academic rigor and practical training through the active involvement of policy practitioners and experiential learning. Since our first intake of MPP students in 2019, the School has expanded its reach, refined its curriculum, and built a strong reputation as a leader in public policy education and a key contributor to improving Canada’s policy-making ecosystem.
