Law professor Daniel Weinstock appointed to the Order of Canada | Reporter McGill
July 26, 2023 | Daniel Weinstock among seven other members of the McGill community were honored by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, on 30 June and has been appointed a Member of the Order of Canada (OOC). Weinstock was recognized "for his exemplary contributions to the advancement of political philosophy, public policy and social justice in Canada, as a renowned ethicist, philosopher and public intellectual," the OOC citation reads.
“I’m thrilled to see this recognition of our colleague’s great contributions to building a more just society,” said Dean Robert Leckey, Ad E. “A leading ethicist, philosopher, and public intellectual, his scholarship brings an unparalleled clarity to some of the most pressing public-policy debates of our time.”
