The MiCM will be collaborating with the Human Genetics Student Society to host a full-day in-person event to boost your bioinformatic skills and improve your understanding of transcriptomic data analysis. We will kickstart the day with a discussion panel between the workshop instructors to answer some of the most pressing questions in the field.
The event will close with a Keynote talk from Prof. Hamed Najafabadi from the CSG Lab titled
"Using transcriptomics to understand the gene regulatory basis of human diseases"
Based on their level of experience in bioinformatics, atendees can choose one of two workshop tracks:
- Beginner stream that will introduce attendees to the basics of bulk and single cell RNA-seq data analysis.
- Advanced stream with workshops on long read RNA-seq data analysis and advanced topics in single cell transcriptomics. Atendees will have the opportunity to tests the acquired skills on their own dataset during the final "bring your own data" session.
The keynote talk will be open to all McGill students at no cost.
Look at the official event poster for more details!
