Conversations: sponsored by Charles Bronfman

In 2024, MISC launches a new flagship event: Conversations: sponsored by Charles Bronfman, a major discussion series that focuses on thoughtful dialogue on topics of interest and relevance to a broad audience, addressing timely questions of Canadian history, politics, and policy, among others. The questions will transcend Canada, making important connections between Canada and its place in the world. Experts invited to participate in Conversations will be from Canada and from other parts of the world.

The inaugural Conversations event will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 7 p.m.

Panelists

  • Rosalie Silberman Abella, retired Supreme Court of Canada justice and world-renowned expert on human rights law
  • Luís Roberto Barroso, President of the Brazilian Federal Supreme Court, known for his strong stance against corruption and for promoting human rights and democracy
  • Vikas Swarup, retired career diplomat from India, former High Commissioner of India to Canada, and author of the novel Slumdog Millionaire

  • Nahlah Ayed, award-winning foreign correspondent and host of CBC Radio One’s IDEAS
