Construction start: Royal Victoria College (RVC) Residence - Masonry work

Please be advised that McGill University has mandated Atwill-Morin Maçonnerie to carry out the following project: 22-036 (RVC Residence - B180) - Restoration of rendering on rear façades

Description: The project involves restoring the rendering on the rear façades of the Royal Victoria College (RVC) Residences, located on University Street, adjacent to McGill University's Downtown campus.

Construction start date: July 2nd, 2024

Planned construction end date: October 11th, 2024

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., but no work deemed too noisy before 7:00 a.m.

Scope of work:

Exterior (rear of the building):

Following contract signature, work can begin immediately after May 1, 2024 and be completed by August 12, 2024.

  • installation of building access guards
  • installation of scaffolding
  • cleaning of all surfaces
  • removal of existing masonry joints
  • final cleaning
  • removal of scaffolding and access protection

Interior: No work inside the building

Impact & mitigation:

The contractor must coordinate with the project manager at the start of the project a test to evaluate the vibrations and noise caused by the work vibration and noise caused by the work to enable users to determine the potential impact on nearby users and other establishments. Recommendations on the methodology or tools used could be identified to mitigate vibration and noise.

Asbestos-related work: No issue expected with asbestos.
