Xinyuan Li

I am a PhD student in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Suzanne King.

After graduating from School of Public Health of Jilin University, I completed 3-year Master program in Department of Neurology, the First Teaching Hospital of Jilin University, where I gained research experience in brain and neurological disorders, and have done some work on post-stroke depression and anxiety disorders. Having great interest in prenatal maternal stress from natural disasters, I am pursuing my PhD degree in Dr. Suzanne King’s lab.

At present, I focus on investigating the long-term impact of prenatal maternal stress on functional brain connectivity in adolescents and its association with the severity of their depression and anxiety symptoms. To achieve this, I am supervised by Dr. Suzanne King in psychosocial methods of prenatal stress, and by Dr. Pedro Rosa-Neto who specializes in resting-state functional MRI.
