Qualifying students

What is a qualifying student? In some cases, the Graduate Program Training Committee may consider that some applicants to the MSc program (Fall) may not have the appropriate academic training for the proposed research project and may thus recommend a Qualifying Year of advanced undergraduate courses. This entails taking a minimum of 12 credits per semester for two semesters. The courses have to be selected together with the proposed supervisor, and should be relevant to the proposed graduate research project. Please note that course credits obtained during the Qualifying Year cannot be transferred to the MSc. Students must submit a new application to be considered for admission to the MSc program the following year.
