READING ABBOTT - EXHIBITION

Please save the date! You are invited to celebrate an Osler Library exhibition on Maude Abbott, on May 16th at 4:30 pm. "Reading Abbott" explores both what Maude Abbott read and ways in which we can "read" her life story. While many publications on the famous doctor and museum curator have focused on the barriers she faced in a male-dominated profession, this exhibition places Abbott among her favourite authors, locations, and texts. Curated by architectural historian Annmarie Adams, “Reading Abbott” invites feminist and spatial readings of Abbott's legacy.

Poster design: Justine Valois

Exhibit funding: SSHRC Insight Grant 81517, “Encountering Maude Abbott”
